In the Krankenhaus...

The Squidges have had the lurgy - big time. Hence no blogging as we've all been pretty poorly over the last week or more.

Not sure what the bug was - Squidgeling J started off with it three weeks ago, and glandular fever was suspected for a while because of the fever, lethargy and aches and pains. Took a week to shake it off. Week after, Squidgeling T starts - pretty much the same symptoms but back at school quicker. So, a virus of some description, but all done and dusted.

How wrong we were!

Come Easter weekend, Squidgeling J starts with a cold - a real sinus-blocking yet nose-streaming one. Squidgeling T succumbs to yet another fever and sleepiness, spending nearly three days either in bed or crashed out on the sofa, watching films and coughing. Mr Squidge gets very tired and spends the best part of a day in bed before getting up with a hacking cough. Squidge herself? Aches in every joint and feels very tired, but seems to get off lightly compared to everyone else...

Cue cancelled holiday plans to get-together with family and lots of moping around on all sides. Mind you - it didn't interfere with Easter Egg eating. Chocolate - makes everything better...

We just begin to see signs of improvement in everyone midweek, when T takes a turn for the worse. Verdict? Possible tracheal infection. Result? Penicillin.

But - after a whole week of being in the Krankenhaus, we're all finally picking up. In a way, it's a good job we all went down with whatever we had at the same time, because at least it means it didn't drag on. We have actually managed to step outside of our own four walls and enjoy the sunshine this weekend, albeit only for short walks or bike rides or in the garden.

We've since spoken to a lot of people who've had (or still got) something similar to what we've all had, so maybe there's just a particularly nasty virus doing the rounds at the moment.

We have just a week left of the Easter holidays - fingers crossed we all remain fit and well enough to enjoy it! I shall certainly blog if anything interesting happens...
